4th of July GirlDo you have everything you need for a romantic 4th of July with your sweetheart? You probably already have candles, lingerie and something bubbly to drink and the rest won’t take long to gather tonight or tomorrow morning.

Here are the things you need to have:

• Blank 4th of July Card
• Sparklers
• 4th of July Hat
• Candles
• Something sparkly to drink, i.e. Champagne, Beer, Sparkling Cider
• Red, white or blue lingerie

In your blank 4th of July card write:

“Happy 4th of July sweetheart! I am going to create a slow burn on you tonight until we both are emitting the intensity and warmth of sparklers all over our bodies!”

Grab some wrapping paper and wrap your box of sparklers up, lay the card on top and hand it to your sweetie pie in the morning.

In the evening light the candles, pour your drink of choice, slip into your sexy lingerie and add your 4th of July hat.

Lots of laughter, romance and love are waiting for you and your sweetheart this 4th.

Did you get the items I told you to get on Wednesday, June 27, 2012? Once you have seen the whole plan you will want to run out and get the things you don’t have on hand.

Here is a reminder of everything you will need to create your own fireworks in your bedroom:

• Romantic Music

• Candles (red, white & blue ones would be nice)

• Red, White or Blue Lingerie

• Red or White Feather Boa

• Purchase a Box of Rockets and or Missiles from the Fireworks Stand or a Picture of them will do too.

• Something Sparkly to Drink, i.e. Champagne, Beer or Sparkling Cider

• 4th of July Card

Write a note in the 4th of July card that says:

“Happy 4th of July, sweetheart! Let’s make love until we create our own rocket of explosion that only we know how to do to each other.”

Wrap up the box of rockets and put your card on top or put a picture of firework rockets in the card.

In the morning give your sweetheart the card along with the rockets or picture to your sweetie pie. If you purchased the rockets enjoy them with your family in the evening outside but I can guarantee when the rocket is lite you will both be thinking of the fun you will have later with each other creating your own explosion.

In the evening:

Light the candles turn on the music, get dressed in that special red, white or blue lingerie, wrap the red or white boa around you and pour your sparkling drink in two glasses to enjoy.

May you have a very happy 4th of July together!

Last Friday I requested  you to pickup some items so you can have a little romance along with watching the fireworks. If you haven’t gotten anything yet here is a reminder of what you will need:

  • Box of Sparklers
  • 2 glasses of sparkly (Champagne, Sparking Cider or Wine Spritzer)
  • Blank Card or a post-it note
  • Candles
  • Something sexy to wear

On your blank card or post-it note write “Meet me in the bedroom tonight and I will put a sparkle in your eyes that will light us both up and we will hear fireworks exploding in our heads.” Put the card or post-it note on the box of Sparklers and give it to your sweetheart in the morning. Once the kids are in bed put on something sexy or maybe nothing at all. Have the candles lit and have the 2 glasses of sparkly in each hand filled ready to hand to your special someone as soon as they walk into the room.

My wish for you is that you have more fun putting a sparkle in each others eyes than playing with your box of sparklers on the 4th of July!

As you know I am always on the lookout for deals and interesting tidbits of information for you. Well today I want to tell you about and a way to get your hotel room up to 50% off. Call on Sunday.

It is a little known fact the employees who set the rates for the hotel are off on Sundays. When you call on Sunday you will probably be getting the hotel clerk at the front desk who may give you a good deal. The important thing is to remember to be friendly with them because they are more likely to help you out.

Another little tidbit, Larry and I have noticed when we call the hotel for a room we will ask for 2 nights instead of 1 night and we are more likely to get a room than if we ask for 1 night.

So the next time you are planning on a little romantic getaway call on Sunday. Who knows you might get lucky and get your hotel room for half off? That will leave you with more money to spend on something else. Like a nice dinner or an extra night at the hotel.

Don’t forget to gather the items I told you about last Friday if you want a romantic 4th of July. I will be telling you what to do with it tomorrow.

Take a Walk

Simply walking outside and holding hands with your partner can help to lower stress and bring you closer to each other. Larry and I love to take walks together. It gives us a chance to connect. Walking and enjoying the fresh air, whether it is in town, your local park, ocean, lake or around the block will help lower stress, eases digestions and can reset hormone levels so you both can sleep better. Also, remember walking is free!

Enjoy Food Together

Enjoy something sinfully delicious together by splitting it. Did you know you can raise the serotonin levels which can put both of you in a good mood when you allow yourself to have that scrumptious food you have been craving? We do this a lot. When we go out to eat we will split our salad, main course and desert. We get to enjoy something we normally wouldn’t order because it is too high in fat and calories. We don’t always order decadent food but when we have a craving for something decadent at least are not eating the whole thing. When we go for coffee sometimes we will split a cookie and enjoy every last bite.

Surround Each Other With Friends and Family

When a couple is people-oriented with strong family ties and support system they are happier and healthier. I know you hear me talk about the importance of making alone time with your sweetheart but it is important to take time out for family and friends together and separately. You have a well rounded relationship then. You are more interesting to each other and you don’t have to depend on doing everything together.

Live In the Now

Savor your time together whether it is a conversation or just sitting and having a cup of coffee. Give your sweetheart your full attention. Don’t think about your to-do list. When you focus on each other instead of worrying about what will happen tomorrow you will feel more relaxed together.

Surround Your Home with Beauty

Surround each other with beautiful things. Have a clean home that smells good and has fresh cut flowers. It doesn’t have to be decorator perfect. Have your home clutter free and simple so it is easy for everyone in the family to help keep it clean. You will have a stress free environment for everyone to come home to.

Following these 5 simple steps will give you a happier, healthier and stress free relationship.

Don’t forget to gather the items I told you about last Friday if you want a romantic 4th of July.

Last week, June 22, I mentioned there are wineries in all 50 States and you didn’t have to go to Napa, CA to visit a winery. See “Wine and Romance.” Well yesterday on the Today Show Matt Lauer and Natalie Morales had a segment with winemaker and restaurateur Joe Bastianich.

Joe Bastianich talked about wines from seven different states that maybe you wouldn’t even think existed there. Here is the list of the states and the links to the wineries Joe recommended:

You can view “The Best Wines in America” video.

The wines were all reasonably priced, all under $15. If you live near a winery make it a point to have a romantic afternoon date with your sweetheart. Bring a picnic and enjoy some local wine. If you are planning on traveling, find out if there is a local winery near your destination. As Joe said eat and drink what the local area has to offer. It will make it more memorable.

Don’t forget to gather the items I told you about last Friday if you want a romantic 4th of July.
