Do you want to have a little different and fun date this weekend, something you haven’t done in a while? Something you used to do with your sweetheart when you were dating? When was the last time you went out to a restaurant or bar and listened to live music for date night?

What do you both like? Is it jazz, country, classical, pop, etc.? Find out what type of music groups are playing in your area by scouring the newspaper and the internet and find a group you both like. Did you know couples who listen to jazz have more sex? Jazz is a very sensual music and it makes sense that it would help couples get in the mood for a little lovin……

Try to keep the cost down by choosing a place where there is no cover charge. Get dressed up according to the venue you plan on attending. Hop in the car and enjoy an evening of music, drinks and each other.

Dressing up and doing things you did when you were still dating reminds you both why you fell in love in the first place.  Your marriage won’t feel boring. It will feel like when you were dating. You could play footies under the table and get each other excited. You will feel relaxed and like you don’t have a care in the world.

An evening together, sipping a drink, listening to live music and the pleasure of each other. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Feel Good ExerciseTomorrow is National Spouse Day. As you know I am always looking for ways for you to show your appreciation toward your spouse and tomorrow is just one more reason to celebrate how much you love them.

You don’t need to run out and get a gift all you need to do is find little ways to show your sweetheart how much you appreciate them. Compliment them. Make your spouse feel they are special to you. Isn’t that all we want from each other? Someone that thinks you’re the bomb.

Thank them for being the best partner you could ever have.  Recognize all the things they do for you. When you have been married for a long time it is easy to take each other for granted. This is the day to stop and say thank you and I love you.

If you have the time and energy you may want to really……..show your appreciation later in the evening or give a coupon promising lots of leisurely loving over the weekend. Whatever you do keep it simple, nothing extravagant. You don’t want your partner to feel like they dropped the ball for not knowing tomorrow is National Spouse Day.

Do you want to kick it up a notch? Tomorrow grab a post-it-note and write:

“I bet you didn’t know today is National Spouse Day? Well I do and I want to show you how much I appreciate you when we are alone tonight. After we will both be singing “I want to thank you baby!”

With winter in full swing and you just don’t feel like braving the weather conditions to go out on a date with your sweetheart.  All you want to do is hunker down in front of the fireplace and stay warm.

I have an idea for you and your sweetie that will bring out the kid in both of you.

Here is what you will need:

• Tray
• Marshmallows
• Graham Crackers
• 1 (1.5 oz) Chocolate Candy Bar
• Post-it-Note

Lay all the items on the tray with a little post-it-note saying:

“I’d like to make love to you until you melt in bliss and ask for s’more.”

Grab your sweetheart, turn on some music and roast your marshmallow in front of the fireplace and make S’mores.

If you want to add a little twist to this kid favorite snack sprinkle a little finely diced candied ginger on top of your melted marshmallow. YUM!

Did you know ginger is an aphrodisiac? It helps to increase blood flow through the circulatory system all the way down to your sex organs. Hum……maybe you need to add a little more candied ginger on top of your melted marshmallows.

Did you know today is “National Popcorn Day”? What a great day to pop some popcorn and snuggle up to your sweetheart along with the kids and watch a movie.

If you want to add a little surprise to your popcorn night, attach a note for your spouse to see on the popcorn bag that says:

“My heart pops with love for you. POP! POP! POP! POP!”

What a nice and different way to say I love you!

Typically, I am always talking about the importance of spending time alone together but as we both know most of the time you are with the family. Make it a point to snuggle with your spouse even with the kids around. You need to show your children how to have a good marriage.

Children need to see their parents kissing; hugging and snuggling up to each other. Don’t let them come between you. The kids can sit beside you and your spouse. They will feel more loved when they know their parents love each other.

You are teaching them what to look for in a partner and how to have a good marriage. What better way to teach them than by example.

Celebrate “National Popcorn Day” by popping some popcorn, snuggling up with the family and enjoying a movie together. It does a family & your relationship good.

Don’t forget today is “Make Your Dream Come True Day”. Did you read my blog on Wednesday,” Dream a Little Dream with Me”? Hopefully tonight you are planning on enjoying your pizza and drinks together while going over some of the pamphlets you picked up along with doing some research on the internet. Then deciding what you will do and how much money you will need to put aside to make it all happen.

Because you will be staying in tonight and spending money on the pizza why don’t you plan on going out tomorrow evening for dessert and coffee?  To keep the cost down you could even split the dessert. Throw on your nicest pair of jeans and a cute top for your sweetheart. Make it feel like a date. Getting away from the house and kids for an hour can do wonders for your relationship.

While you are having dessert you can talk about the steps you will need to take to make your special dream together a reality.

Two nights of special planning and dreaming together, what better way to make you feel like a couple and not just roommates.

Did you know Friday, January 13th is “Make Your Dream Come True Day”? What a great day to think of something special you and your sweetheart would like to do together.

Is there something you would like to do with your sweetheart but it is too expensive? Is it a special trip? Whatever your dreams are, make plans, pick up flyers, research the internet and then on Friday night order pizza, have your favorite drink, grab a calculator and your computer and start to make plans. Calculate how much it will cost to make your dreams come true and start to put money aside to make it happen.

Another thing you could do is if you know there is something really special your sweetheart would like to do and it is within your budget then surprise them on “Make Your Dreams Come True Day”. What a special way to say I love you.
