Wednesday I talked about cleaning up the clutter in your bedroom. Today I will give you some pointers on how you can have a bedroom that is a refuge for you and your spouse. Once you have cleaned out your bedroom have you and your spouse stand in the middle of the room and take a good look at it. Have a pad and pencil and write down things you would like to change in your room. What would make it feel like your romantic haven?

When you are looking at your master bedroom act as if that is the first room people will see when they walk in. I know most people will never see it and so you have a tendency to throw everything into that room and close the door when the doorbell rings. Find another room or closet that you can throw things into, not your master bedroom!

If you need ideas on how to decorate you romantic haven go on-line and type romantic bedrooms or go on Pinterest. You will find lots of ideas there that you can replicate. Also, look through decorating magazines.

Our bedroom is very romantic. We have bedside lamps with three way switches on it. There are candles in the bedroom and bathroom. There is nothing more relaxing and romantic than taking showers by candlelight. We have a small radio and CD player. We do have a very old small TV in the room even though it is recommended not to have it in there. We have it on only on in the morning while we are getting dress. We listen to the news. We never watch TV in bed in the evening. We haven’t spent a lot of money decorating it but it does look nice. Towels, accessories, sheets, bedspread and pillows all match. This is our romantic haven.

Here are some things you should consider when setting your room up for romance.

Paint:
Paint is an inexpensive way to update and freshen up a room. Keep the colors calm and relaxing.

Lighting:
Did you know that overhead lighting is very unflattering? A well lit room is not sexy. Your lamps should have three way switches. The lower wattage will put a nice glow on you and your partner. Pink-tinted bulbs can make you look good too. Of course candlelight is the most flattering.

Appearance:
Clean your master bedroom, dust and vacuum everything. Wash everything; Make your bed like a hotel does with the sheets folded back invitingly. Keep your children’s toys and family pictures out of the room. Don’t use your room as a display case for your hobbies. This is your private place as a couple.

Scents:
Buy candles, scented oils and a matching room spray that you both like. Make your room smell good.

Music:
Have a small stereo in your bedroom and play romantic music, soft jazz or whatever your fancy is to put you both in a romantic mood.

Once you have identified everything you want to make it your special romantic retreat then plan to purchase something every payday or put the money aside until it goes on sale. Recently we needed new towels for our master bathroom so every payday I would put our money aside until the towels were on sale. This is how I purchase everything in my home. It is a gradual transformation.

Prepare your room every night so that when you walk in you relax. Turn down the bed, fluff up the pillows, turn on the radio with soft music playing in the background, have the lights softly lit and light a candle. For those special times, ladies have beautiful lingerie hanging in your closet to make it easy for you or your husband to layout it out on the bed.

Thanksgiving morning hand your sweetheart a Thanksgiving card with your handwritten note inside:

“Happy Thanksgiving Sweetheart, I want to show you how thankful I am to have you as my husband/wife tonight by giving you an evening full of pleasurable love. After we will both be singing: Thank You Baby for Lovin Me the Way You Do!”

I published this in April of 2011 and thought it was something you might waant to revisit again since this has been a very busy week with 4th of July being on Wednesday. I don’t know about you but I am tired and just want to stay home and be with my hubby.

So bring out the drinks and dust off thoe dice and have a little fun with your sweetie pie.

This weekend you and your sweetheart just want to stay home and jell out. You don’t want to get all dressed up. You both feel like you have been running around and doing too many things all week. So how do you get in the mood for love when you are so tired?

I’m going to teach you how to play Dicey Love Game. It won’t cost you a lot of money to play and it will get you both in the mood for love.

Here is what you will need for your Dicey Love Game:

• 2 Dice (each a different color)
• Paper
• Pen
• Candles
• Soft Music in the background

Earlier in the day you wrote on a piece of paper the numbers 1 through 6 for each dice. Write the actions for one of the dice and body parts for the other.

Here is an example:

White Dice Red Dice
1 – Wrist 1 – Lick
2 – Neck 2 – Suck
3 – Stomach 3 – Massage
4 – Thigh 4 – Blow
5 – Lip 5 – Caress
6 – Chest 6 – Lightly Bite

Head to your bedroom together and put on a clean rob (no holes please) with nothing on underneath. Light the candles; turn on the music and enjoy a drink of your choice while playing your game. Relax and have fun together!

One of you rolls the dice and must follow what you rolled. For example: if you rolled the number 6 on the white dice (chest) and number 1 on the red dice (lick) then you get to lick your partner’s chest. If your partner rolled the number 4 on the white dice and 4 on the red dice they would need to squeeze your thighs. Take turns rolling the dice. This is a win/win game of Dicey Love. Set a time limit on how long the person needs to do this, 1 minute, 2 minutes, etc.

You can change out the actions and body parts to your likings or when you play again.

Have fun playing your “Dicey Love Game” over the weekend it will help to keep your love life exciting!

Holiday traditions are an integral part of the holidays for most families. Whether it is that the holiday meal always remains the same, Christmas caroling, Christmas Eve candlelight services or helping the needy.  What is your family tradition that you and your family do year after year that keeps you feeling “This is my family and how we do things.”

Do you have a tradition that you and your sweetheart do together as a couple? Did you know couples who have their own little traditions are happier and feel closer with each other than if they don’t do anything? Whether it is shopping together, planning the Christmas dinner or just sitting in front of the fireplace and with a glass of wine or warm drink after the kids are in bed gives them a sense that they are a team  and they have certain things they do together that defines them as a couple.

One of our most prized traditions for Larry and me is our romantic Christmas Eve date night. We get dressed up and go out to a really nice restaurant and then after when we get home I know Larry looks forward to my funny and sexy gift I like to give him every year. 

Start your own couples Christmas tradition by giving your sweetheart the suggestion I will be giving you for a very funny and sexy evening. You should have most of the items on hand, so it shouldn’t cost you a whole lot of money.

Here is the list of everything you will need:

•  2 Red Ornament Christmas Balls
• 1 Box to put the Red Ornament Christmas Balls in.
• Christmas Wrapping Paper
• 1 Blank Christmas card
• Candles
• Romantic Christmas Music
• Lingerie or maybe nothing at all!

This was meant to be up on my site on Friday, the 9th, but between working fulltime now I just ran out of time. There are still a lot of parties you will be attending and could secretly have fun with your partner.

The holidays are in full swing and there is no time left for your weekly private date, with parties and Christmas shopping you are too busy and tried to plan let alone go out with your sweetheart. Don’t let the holidays and parties stop you from having fun with your sweetheart.
 
When you are driving to the party let your sweetheart know you can’t wait to get them home and jump in bed with them. Ladies, if you are wearing a dress make it a point to not wear underwear and whisper in your sweetheart’s ear you forgot to put your panties on just as you walk into the party,. You will be the only lady he will be looking at all night. 

When you are at a holiday party with your sweetheart have a little fun and flirt with them. If you are across the room get their attention and make them feel as if you are undressing them with your eyes. Giving your partner unexpected attention like this will help both of you feel special.

Don’t forget to have a secret code between the two of you that lets the other know you are so ready to go home NOW and make mad passionate love to them!

After your Thanksgiving dinner and everyone has gone home do you want to have a romantic evening with your sweetheart? With very little preparation you can have the quite time and romance you both so desperately need.

Gather the items below:

• Blank Fall Card
• Fall Scented Candles
• Romantic Music Playing in the Background

In the morning on Thanksgiving Day hand your sweetheart the card with a note written inside saying:

“After the company is gone I’d like to show you how thankful I am we are together with an evening of pleasure that is better than any sweet desert you could eat. After we will be thanking each other.”

In the evening light the candles, turn on the music and have a delightful evening together.

Lots of couples ask me do you have to go out on date night. While it is fun to get out of the house and not be disturbed by family or friends. It is not always possible to get away for a couple of hours. With money being so tight lots of couples are choosing to stay in.

If you read my blog regularly then you know date night isn’t always about going out. It is about finding creative ways to spend time together even if it is at home. Here a few suggestions to help you rethink the stay at home date.

• Play a game together and the winner gets something special. Keep it sexy.

• Read a book. One couple I know love sci-fi. They decide on a book and read it together. Not into sci-fi then  read a romance novel? Guys don’t roll eyes. When you read a romance novel together you are both getting into the mood for sex. Try it you will like it and so will your sweetheart. She will be saying, “Thank you baby”.
• Cook together. Try a new recipe, set the table, turn on the music and enjoy the fabulous dinner you and your sweetheart prepared.
• Turn off the TV, light the candles, turn on the music and pour a glass of wine. When choosing music, choose jazz because studies have proven it will get you in the mood for love.
• Rent a movie and enjoy a few appetizers and beer, just another way to enjoy your quiet time together. Larry & I like to sometimes pick up a large nachos from Taco Bell and split it for dinner.
• If the weather permits go for a moonlight walk together.
• Draw a warm bubble bath, light the candles, turn on soft music and relax together in the tub. If your bathtub is too small take turns relaxing in the tub while the other helps you wash and dry yourself. This should definitely get you into the mood to get a little closer.

There are many couples today who have to make the difficult decision on whether or not to live apart. One of them has lost their job and can’t find a job locally so they have to move to a city hundreds of miles away from their partner to be able to work.

What would you do if you were offered a position with a company across the miles and needed to be separated from your sweetheart? Would your relationship last? What would you do to make it work?

The Today Show has a segment about couples who have had to make this tough decision and why they did it. Lilia Luciano talks to these couples and finds out how they are staying together and keeping their relationship strong.

I know of a few couples who are living apart for the time being until the job market improves and they both can be together again. They know this is only temporary and they are finding inventive ways to stay close even though they are miles apart.

One couple had no choice in the matter. Terry is in the military and she was sent to Iraq for a year. Her husband, Dick, was left home continuing to work and take care of the kids. They talk everyday on SKYPE and texted each other but what really impressed me was the creative way they made each other feel special.

Terry wrote  little notes, poems, sayings and thoughts she liked or wrote herself (some were very sexy) on 365 cards and put it in a box for Dick. Once a day Dick opened his box and chooses one card and reads it.

Dick took a picture of both of them together and had a 252 piece puzzle made to give to Terry. Everyday Terry had to put one piece of the puzzle together each day until it was done. At the end of the 252 days she would have a completed puzzle and Dick sent her a frame to put it in and a love note reminding her they only had 110 days left before they seen each other.

You can have any picture made into a puzzle by going to Walgreens or Shutterfly.
