Did you know it is “Stay at Home because you are Well Day” today? It is considered a good day to take off work and call in that you are “Well Today”. Now I don’t recommend you do this because there is a good chance you could lose your job but it is a great day to celebrate when you are home with your sweetie pie.

With the holidays in full swing all you may want to do is take the evening off when you both get home from work and enjoy some quite time together.  Pop some popcorn, make some hot chocolate or pour a glass of wine or beer and put on your pajamas, cuddle up and sit back after the kids are in bed and enjoy a movie together.

The Hallmark station has some cute Christmas movies right now that you might enjoy. They are simple, no brainers and you know the outcome but there is no stress just a cute movie that you can relax by.

So enjoy your “Stay at Home because you are Well Day”. Sometimes that is all you and your sweetheart need to distress.

With Christmas just around the corner and like most couples we are all trying to figure out where we are going to get the money to pay for all the gifts you need to purchase for family and friends. Well before you go out and start to use your credit cards watch the Today Show Video below.

Author, Mary Hunt, who wrote “Debt-Proof Your Christmas” and the Today Show Financial Editor, Jean Chalzky discuss how to avoid holiday debt.

Debt Proof Your Holidays:

Good sound advice by two very wise women.

Debt is the number one reason for divorces today. So let’s not become a marriage debt statistic! Sit down with your sweetheart and write a list of people you need to get gifts for and how much money you can afford to spend for each person.

Look over your list and decide who you can cut out. I am sure if you call that individual and ask them not to give you a gift and that all you want from them is a card. They will be relieved also.

My girlfriends and I stop giving gifts to each other years ago. We usually will go out to dinner together sometime during the holidays and give each other a Christmas card. The best gift of all for us is our special girl time.

Make a plan that in January you will open a savings account for Christmas gifts only and every payday put aside some money so that at the end of the year you won’t be tempted to use your credit card. Your marriage will be less stressful and happier if you spend less and stay debt free.

Thanksgiving is tomorrow. Do you have the items I told you to have on hand for your romantic Thanksgiving evening? If you didn’t read my blog last Friday then here is the list:

• Lingerie
• Candles (Cinnamon sent would be nice)
• Romantic Music
• Thanksgiving Card

Nothing too difficult to find just things you probably already have on hand.

Thanksgiving morning hand your sweetheart a Thanksgiving card with your handwritten note inside:

“Happy Thanksgiving Sweetheart, I want to show you how thankful I am to have you as my husband/wife tonight by giving you an evening full of pleasurable love. After we will both be singing: Thank You Baby for Lovin Me the Way You Do!”

To help you get in the mood thought you would enjoy watching Shania Twain’s song:

Can you believe we are in November and Christmas is around the corner? Cooking, shopping, wrapping and parties are in our future. Why not get ahead with your Christmas shopping and purchase some unique gifts for special family members and friends?

Right now there are lots of craft fairs going on and this would make a great date for you and your sweetie pie on Saturday. You can find out where the craft fairs are being held in your area through the newspaper and online. On Friday evening after the kids are fast asleep get a pad of paper, a glass of wine and sit down with your husband and make a list of everyone you will need to purchase a gift for.

To help you get in the mood, put a Christmas CD in the CD player, Rod Stewart has a new one out you might want to pick up and listen to.

On Saturday morning with list in hand and a plan on where you are going head out to find that perfect gift for everyone on your list. You may even find a thing or two for your home that you didn’t know you couldn’t live without. After you both have shopped till you dropped go to your favorite lunch place and have a relaxing lunch together.

A unique date with your sweetheart, some of your Christmas shopping done and the benefit of a less stressful holiday is in the future for the both of you. More time to enjoy the festive holidays with your whole family.

There is a new Bed & Breakfast in the quaint historic Village of Arroyo Grande I wanted to let you know about. The Inn is called Grandview Manor Bed and Breakfast. It is owned by my very dear friend, Terry Fowler-Payne.

Terry has traveled across the United States and stayed at many beautiful Inns. As a little girl she was raised in the historic Coffee Rice House located on Hwy 1 and the Grieb Farm House on Halcyon Road which are both in Arroyo Grande.

Terry designed and built this beautiful home on a hilltop overlooking the Village of Arroyo Grande. Her daughters where raised here and are now all grown and gone so she decided to share her spectacular home with guest visiting the area.

Check out her website:

Grandview Manor Bed and Breakfast

The room that is the most spectacular is the Master Suite which is only $150.00. There is a double sided fireplace which faces the bedroom and bath. The bath has a spa tub and spacious shower. The Inn is on a hill overlooking the quaint Village of Arroyo Grande and the Master Suite has the best view. So if you saved your $260 and spent one night you would have plenty of money to go out to dinner.

• Morning Coffee & Tea
• Evening Reception
• Porches with Views
• 5 Hole Putting Green
• Gazebo & Barbecue
• Kitchen for Your Personal Use
