The weekend is finally here and you are ready to go on a date with your sweetheart and do something you don’t normally do. Have you thought of going to your local planetarium but not sure if you even have a planetarium near you?

This website will help you locate a Planetarium, Observatory or Science Center near you.

After go out for a cup of hot apple cider or hot chocolate at your local coffee house and sit outside and see if you and your sweetheart can find some of the constellations in the sky you learned about at the center.  Or better yet, you could go to a lookout point and look for them there and steal a kiss or two or three or more.

If there isn’t a Planetarium near you then go to your local library and check out a book on the constellations and enjoy an evening of staring at the sky and trying to identify some of the constellations in the heavens.

How often do you let your sweetheart know how special they are? We all need to know someone cares about us. It makes you feel loved and that even through the bad times there is always someone you love there for you.

This week try showing how much you care by leaving little notes around for your sweetheart. Maybe it is just a post-it-note on the steering wheel of the car reminding them of an appointment they have that day. Or your sweetheart has a big presentation to do at work and you leave them a note that says “You’re the best!” on their coffee cup in the morning. Whatever the situation is let them know you care and are thinking of them.

You don’t always need to leave a note. You can verbally tell them how much you care. Last night we were coming home from doing an errand talking and laughing about me having a facelift. He said people who didn’t know him would think he is out with a younger woman and that he was having a mid-life-crisis.  I said if I had a facelift they might think I was a gold digger and was dating an older man for only his money. Now that is funny to both of us because we are not millionaires by any means but as we were laughing and talking I told Larry I would not trade him for all the money in the world, not for a million, billion, trillion……..no money could replace him. He looked over at me and smiled.

It is the little things that makes your relationship special. When your sweetheart looks nice tell them you think they look beautiful or handsome. We don’t have to be the best looking hunk or beautiful women in the world we just need to feel your partner thinks that.

So……..today leave a post-it-note on the mirror that says: “You’re looking good to me!”

We forget how important touch is in our relationships. Did you know you don’t always have to have sex to feel intimate together? There are times when you are just too tired or you or your sweetheart has had surgery and the doctor has said no sex for 6 weeks but you miss the feeling you have when being intimate together.  Then you will want to go to Plan B.

You have seen me write about kissing everyday and the importance of hugging but there is more you can do, particularly when you can’t have the intimacy you want. That’s when Plan B can help.

Plan B is about going to bed naked with the intent of no sex and having your naked bodies touching each other. It may take some getting used to, so you may want to try this a few weeks before you go for surgery to help you understand the importance of this intimate gesture. You could plan on the first night no sex and then the next night sex.

Trying Plan B could make you look at sex and the pleasure of touching differently. It helps you to feel closer and when you are able to make love you may find it more enjoyable. The pleasure of your two naked bodies touching each other may become a part of your weekly ritual once you understand the close connection you get from it.

Once you are able to roll in the sack then start the celebration with a surprise gift and note in the morning. Purchase a Wachamacallit Candy Bar and write on a post-it-note and attach it to the candy bar:

 “I’d like to play with YOUR whatchamacallit!”

When the county fair is in town do you and your sweetheart make it a point to have a date night there or do you think it is just to bring the kids to? Planning a date at the fair is so much fun to do since it only comes to town once a year. So grab your sweetheart and head out the door and head straight to your local county fair for date night.

It is county fair time where we live. We just had the Santa Barbara County Fair in Santa Maria and now the Mid-State Fair is in Paso Robles which is in San Luis Obispo County. With it only being an hour away from where we live we are planning to make an evening drive to enjoy all the fair has to offer.

My first date with Larry was at the fair. It was small in comparison to the Mid-State Fair but we had fun. I had just turned 16 and he was 17. I remember going on the Ferris wheel and the rollercoaster, laughing and having so much fun with him, so fair time is something special for us.

Generally when you think of the fair you think of the fun children can have but there is lots to do for adults too. In the evenings there is always live entertainment both the headliners which has a fee and the free entertainment.  Of course it is always fun to go through the buildings and see all the vendors selling their wares. And then walking through the animal barns and talking to the kids about their animals is always interesting.

The food is always fun to taste, this year they have the normal corn dogs but there is a new twist to their offerings. Have you tried the fried corn chocolate on a stick? Neither have we so I want to make a stop there and see if I can talk Larry into sharing one with me, since I love chocolate.

Lastly, we can’t forget the rides. Go on the Ferris wheel or the rollercoaster with your sweetheart and when you get to the top kiss each other as you start to go down. What a rush that will be and sparks will be flying!

You don’t have to spend a lot of money just enjoy the free things the fair has to offer. Even the headliners don’t have to cost a penny if you sit outside of the main venue and listen to the live music. Grab a drink and find a spot to sit with your sweetheart while listening to your favorite singer live.

Plan an adult night to enjoy each other and all the fair has to offer. It will bring out the kid in your marriage and help you both to see how much fun you have together.

When you go on a trip with your sweetheart do you try to purchase something to bring home that reminds you of the special time you had together? Perhaps you just have enough money to pay for the hotel or inn you are staying at and your meals? You enjoy the area by taking in the free things available to you, like strolling along the streets or taking a hike in the beautiful outdoors.

Did you know you can bring something home and it won’t cost a dime?

• If you are staying near the beach bring home a shell or piece o driftwood and put it on a dresser in your bedroom.
• Take pictures of the two of you together in the area you are staying at, frame one special picture and put it in your bedroom.
• Bring home a copy of the brochure of the hotel you stayed at, frame it and put it in your bedroom.
• Frame a menu of a special restaurant you both enjoyed eating at and hang it in the kitchen.
• If you went on a hike look for a special rock that you could use as a paperweight.
• Gather several business cards of the places you went to, frame it and again put it in your bedroom.

These are all great reminders of the special time you spent together. Every time you or your sweetheart look at these items you will smile and feel good about your marriage and the special moments you had during your romantic getaway.

Over forty years ago my husband and I went for a walk along the beach. I remember it vividly, it was a cold windy February and we were walking hand in hand when we notice a gray lava rock, with lots of holes in it and tiny shells stuck to it, nestled in the sand. We picked it up and brought it home. I still have the rock and it is in our bedroom, every time I look at the rock I think of an ordinary day when we had a moment alone and found this rock. Would I remember this day if I didn’t have the rock to remind me? Probably not.

It doesn’t have to cost money to bring special memories home.

So you decided you want to do something special for your wife on Mother’s Day. Did you gather the items I told you to get on Wednesday so you can surprise your sweetheart? If not here is a reminder of everything you will need:

• An empty jar or bottle. (Don’t have one? Go to a thrift or craft store and purchase one)

• Blank piece of paper

• Bath salts

• Massage Oil

• Candles

Once you have gathered everything you need then follow the directions below:

Grab the empty jar or bottle and your blank paper and write on the paper:

“Happy Mother’s Day Sweetheart! You are an awesome wife and mother and I want to show you how much I love you and appreciate everything you do for me and the kids! Today is your day to do what you want to do with the family. Then later tonight after the kids are in bed I want to show you my appreciation and love by drawing you a nice warm bath and then pleasure you with a loving massage.”

Roll the note up and put it in the bottle and give it to her privately in the morning. In the evening once the kids are in bed draw your sweetheart a warm bath with the bath salts and light a candle for her.  Before she is ready to get out of the bathtub warm a bath towel in the dryer and wrap her in it. Then take her to the bedroom where you have lit the candles and have soft music in the background and massage oil sitting on the nightstand. FYI, you many want to have a small plate to put the massage oil on so you don’t ruin the nightstand. You wife will appreciate the extra attention you have given to the whole evening.

Don’t forget there is nothing sexier than a man helping out with the kids and around the house. Have the kids help you make breakfast. It doesn’t have to be fancy. Buy a can of Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls and bake them in the oven. Serve with orange juice, coffee and fruit. After breakfast have the kids help with the washing the dishes. For lunch, keep it simple serve ham and Swiss cheese sandwiches on rye along with potato chips. Dinner could be steaks on the barbeque along with a baked potato and a salad. Don’t let her lift a finger have your children help you clean everything up.

It really doesn’t take a lot of money to show your appreciation; it’s the thought that counts. Teaching your children how to give the gift of time and showing their love by helping out around the house with you will be a gift your wife will never forget. You gave her honor and most importantly your time.

This weekend you and your sweetheart just want to stay home and jell out. You don’t want to get all dressed up. You both feel like you have been running around and doing too many things all week.  So how do you get in the mood for love when you are so tired?

I’m going to teach you how to play Dicey Love Game. It won’t cost you a lot of money to play and it will get you both in the mood for love.

Here is what you will need for your Dicey Love Game:

• 2 Dice (each a different color)
• Paper
• Pen
• Candles
• Soft Music in the background

Earlier in the day you wrote on a piece of paper the numbers 1 through 6 for each dice. Write the actions for one of the dice and body parts for the other.

 Here is an example:

                                  White Dice                        Red Dice
                                 1 – Wrist                                 1 – Lick
                                 2 – Neck                                 2 – Suck
                                 3 – Stomach                           3 – Massage
                                 4 – Thigh                                4 – Blow 
                                 5 – Lip                                    5 – Caress 
                                 6 – Chest                                6 – Lightly Bite

Head to your bedroom together and put on a clean rob (no holes please) with nothing on underneath. Light the candles; turn on the music and enjoy a drink of your choice while playing your game. Relax and have fun together!

One of you rolls the dice and must follow what you rolled. For example: if you rolled the number 6 on the white dice (chest) and number 1 on the red dice (lick) then you get to lick your partner’s chest. If your partner rolled the number 4 on the white dice and 4 on the red dice they would need to squeeze your thighs. Take turns rolling the dice. This is a win/win game of Dicey Love. Set a time limit on how long the person needs to do this, 1 minute, 2 minutes, etc.

You can change out the actions and body parts to your likings or when you play again.

Have fun playing your “Dicey Love Game” over the weekend it will help to keep your love life exciting!

Don’t get me wrong she does talk about using toys and other potions but it isn’t the whole topic in the book.
