When was the last time you flew a kite? Well you may want to bring the kid out in you and have a kite date this weekend. Be playful and buy to inexpensive kites and take them to your local park or beach and see who can fly them the highest. Pack a picnic lunch and throw the kites into your car and off you go.

If you don’t want to fly a kite but enjoy looking at them why not find out if there is a Kite Festival in your area. Morro Bay, which is about an hour from where we live, is having their Kite Festival on April 24, 2010. I just typed in Kite Festivals on Google and that is how I found out about their festival. Then I called the Morro Bay Chamber of Commerce and made sure the date was correct. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun. There will be kite and food vendors there. Someone is bringing a 200 ft kite to fly. How fun does that sound!

Take a Saturday or Sunday off and go to a Kite Festival or if there is none in your area fly your own kite! Let your cares and worries fly away. This would be a great family outing too. Forget about the chores and bill paying for one day. So what your house didn’t get picked up or cleaned this week. You can do it next week. Have fun, laugh and bring out the kid in you and your spouse. Wonderful memories are more important than a clean house.

To get you in the mood I found these short videos of Morro Bay’s Kite Festival.

Keep those sparks flying!
