I wrote and posted this blog last year in July and thought it was worth reminding you how much fun you can have together on a lake or ocean.  Enjoy!

Want to do something a little different for date night? Rent or borrow a boat (paddle, motor or sail boat) and enjoy a picnic dinner floating in the middle of a lake at sunset. Leave a note for your sweetheart that says:

“Life is always a picnic with you! Let’s sail away tonight and watch the sunset in our own little private boat!”

Pack a simple picnic dinner:

  • Wine, Beer or Sparkling Cider
  • Tomatoes & Pepper Jack Cheese on skewers marinated in Italian Dressing
  • Grill Chicken or Salmon
  • Salad of your choice
  • Chocolate Chip Cookies

Pack everything and of you go to your romantic dinner.

Ah, you will both be enjoying the beauty of swaying trees, lapping water, chirping birds and the laughter and the pleasure of each other. Most importantly you will be creating memories for a lifetime! Who says date night is always boring?

Planning a big vacation in the future and want to have a credit card that will help you get free rooms, flights, extra leg room on the plane or the VIP Lounge in the airport? Then you will need to watch this video from the Today Show with Elise Loehnen from Conde Nast Traveler.

Elise gives you great credit card tips when traveling. I like the one about the Hyatt’s Visa Credit Card, were you can get 2 free nights at their hotels when applying for a card. I’m thinking 2 free nights at one of their hotels! I have $260 to use however my sweetheart and I want when we are on our romantic weekend away. How cool is that!

Have you ever used your credit card points for travel? What did you did you use it for?

One certainty in your marriage is if you save $5 a week for a year you will have $260 to go away for a romantic weekend.
