Do you have plans this weekend to do something with your sweetheart but can’t think of anything to do? If the weather allows why not take a walk outside together. It is one of the best ways to brighten your mood and when you are happy you can have a positive outlook on your relationship. So even if it is cold outside put on your hiking boots or walking shoes throw on your jackets and have a nature walk together.

Did you know people who took an outdoor nature walk, even on cold days, were happier afterward in comparison to people who walked in a shopping mall? With today’s economy and money is tight when you walk in a mall you are reminded of the things you would like to have but can’t afford which can make you tense and lower your self-esteem. Plus the noise level in a mall is high and that can be stressful too.

When you are outdoors walking you feel less tense and you will have a jump in self-esteem. Walking, holding hands and listening to the music of nature, the wind blowing through the trees, birds singing, the sound of the ocean on the horizon, with seagulls flying or the sound of the lake lapping on the dock. It is beautiful music to our ears and totally free. You will both feel more relaxed and will enjoy your time together.

In addition to walking, you could try ice skating, sledding or building a snowman if you live where there is snow. If you don’t live where it snows why not go to the beach or lake and build a sandcastle, go rollerblading or biking.

Get outside with your sweetheart, hold hands, walk arm in arm. You both will be less tense and feel good about your relationship. With all the stress in life it is important to find ways to have that feel good feeling together. It does a relationship good.

May you have a very holy and blessed Easter, I hope you are surrounded by the love of your family and or friends. On Easter morning we will be going out to have breakfast with our daughter and her family, my mother and my in-laws.

Our grandchildren are all to old to have an Easter egg hunt but I will have my own Easter egg hunt with my husband starting in the morning with his first Easter egg hidden in his bathroom drawer and the second one in the evening on top of his towel.

If you missed my Romantic Easter last Friday you will want to take a look at it and have your own Easter egg hunt! You may not be able to have your date night this weekend because of the hectic Easter celebrations, church, Easter egg hunts, etc. Brunch or dinner with family or friends but you can find time to say I love and care about you to your spouse.

Have your quite time together and bring out the child in your romance; have an Easter Egg Hunt of your own.

Yesterday I talked about bringing home a little something from were you stayed at that you could put in your pocket or wallet. You didn’t pay any money for it. It was something as simple as a business card from the hotel that you stayed at or the restaurant where you had this fabulous view or meal together. I even suggested keeping your room key. Well today I want to tell you about something I purchased while we were in Lake Tahoe last year visiting our granddaughter and her little family.

We went with our daughter and her husband along with our youngest granddaughter. We took separate cars because we were bring things for Sarah, Steve and the newest addition to our family little Ronan. We got rooms at the beautiful Hyatt Hotel overlooking Lake Tahoe. We would visit Steve and Sarah during the day and then head back to our hotel in the evening.

One evening we were in the hotel looking in the gift shop and I noticed something, it was a small flat silver disk with words imprinted on it. There were two little words that said “Kiss Me”.  I decided to purchase it. The little disk was only $2.00. My daughter looked at me and said “Mom why are you buying this little thing that you will loose?” I just looked at her and laughed and told her I thought it would be fun to surprise her Dad with this. She looked at me and rolled her eyes. Later that evening before we went to our separate rooms, I gave the little silver disk to my husband in front of her. He laughed and leaned down and gave me a kiss.

We had a wonderful time with our granddaughter and her cute family. Ronan is so cute and adorable. We all hated to leave because we are a good 7 to 8 hours away and we knew it would be awhile before we could see each other again. We had packed our bags and went down stairs to the front lobby to have our cars brought to the front and while we were all waiting for the cars to be delivered by our valet my husband said “Look what I found!” We all looked and it was my little silver disk with the words “Kiss Me” on it. It apparently had fallen on the flour and I hadn’t noticed it.

My husband smiled at me, handed me the silver disk and bent down to kiss me. I look at our daughter and said “This is why I bought it.” Every so often one of us will surprise the other with our inexpensive “Kiss Me” silver disk and it brings back wonderful memories of family and romance in Lake Tahoe!

You could do the same thing without spending any money at all. Pack a small black tipped permanent marker in your luggage before you leave for your romantic getaway. Make it a point to go for a walk and look for a small smooth light colored rock. Tell your spouse you need their help finding one so you can write 2 little words on it but don’t tell them what the words are. You want to surprise them.  Once you have found the perfect rock bring it back to your room and wash and dry it. Once it is completely dry write the words “Kiss Me” on it and let it dry. Slip it into you pant pocket and hand it to your spouse later that day. Your rock will be a very special memory to you both because you found it together while you were enjoying your romantic weekend away.

It’s Friday and I promised I would reveal what to do with everything your needed for Easter! Did you purchase the items I told you to get on Tuesday for a Romantic Easter? If you haven’t gotten anything yet here is a reminder of everything you will need. You don’t want to miss this because your sweetheart will be hopping next to you all day!

• 2 Plastic Easter Eggs – that open in the middle
• 2 Sheets of Pastel Colored Paper (I found heart shaped post-it-notes at Wal-Mart)
• Something sexy to wear
• Candles

Once you have gotten your items you will want to be prepared ahead of time so you won’t have to worry about doing this at the last minute.

Ladies

• Give your sweetheart a plastic Easter egg in the morning with a folded note inside: Hay! Peter Rabbit why don’t you meet your Honey Bunny in the bedroom tonight and I will give you an Easter you won’t forget! You could hide this in his underwear drawer.
• In the evening after the kids are in bed get ready by putting something sexy on or your spouse’s favorite item they like to see you in for that romantic feeling.
• Before your Peter Rabbit hops into the shower put another note inside a plastic Easter egg and lay it on top of a clean towel that says: “Hay, Peter Rabbit your Honey Bunny is waiting to hop around in bed with you tonight. Hop! Hop! Hop!
• While your Peter Rabbit is showering light the candles.
• When Peter Rabbit walks into the bedroom there will be a soft glow of candle light and his Honey Bunny walking up to him and giving him a big kiss. Then hop into bed and have lots of laughter and fun together!

Men

• Do everything above but change everything that says Peter Rabbit to Honey Bunny and change everything that says Honey Bunny to Peter Rabbit.

You both will be singing “Oh, what an Easter night!”

Remember when you were dating how you liked to have fun with each other? Doing something silly like this helps you keep your romance alive!

On Thursday, March 18th we celebrated our anniversary but we waited to go out of town until Sunday, March 21st. Our granddaughter’s 18th birthday was on March 17th and instead of having a party she wanted to go skydiving. Of course we couldn’t miss this, so on Saturday we went to see her and her father skydive. They were both a little nervous but after the jump they both agreed they would do it again if given the opportunity. We had fun watching them jump out of the plane and landing on the ground. Then we all went out to dinner, ate burgers and celebrated.

Because we didn’t want to miss watching our granddaughter and son-in-law jumping out of a plane we waited until Sunday to celebrate our anniversary. We made reservations at our new favorite place to getaway, which is the Su Nido Inn in Ojai, CA. If you remember the owner had invited us to come down and experience the inn in January and after staying there we both agreed we would go back again.

We decided to save some money and get a one room suite this time. We stayed in the beautiful Sparrow Suite on the second floor. This room could be part of the Eagle Suite but we choose not to rent that room too. Here is the breakdown for our charming Sparrow Suite:

Room Rate:             $159.00
Tax:                                  15.90
Total:                         $174.90

We saved $260.00 and the room cost us $174.90 which left us with $85.10.

Lunch:                          $20.00
Dinner:                            60.00
Breakfast:                       10.00
Total:                            $90.00

We spent $4.90 over what we had saved, which we of course we could afford to pay for without using the credit cards.

We had a lovely romantic little getaway. The Su Nido Inn and it surroundings exudes romance with art stores and wonderful restaurants in the small quaint community. A few days before we went to Ojai the Su Nido Inn sent us a letter recommending we go on their website to find out what activities were going on in the area. In addition, they provided other local websites to help you know the area better before you arrived in Ojai. This is a very thoughtful touch that most hotels or inns never think of doing. I know we will be back again and again. It was the perfect little getaway to celebrate our 43 years of romance together!
