PassionIt is Valentine’s Day today! Do you have everything you need tonight?

Just in case you didn’t see my blog on Wednesday here is everything you will need:

• Lingerie
• Something Bubbly to Drink, i.e., Wine, Champagne, Beer, Soda, Mineral Water or Sparkling Cider
• Don’t forget to prepare your sweetheart’s favorite meal or order a Heart Shaped Pizza from your local pizza parlor to enjoy together. And of course it would be nice to have heart shaped cookies or a cake which you can pick up at your local bakery

In your Valentine’s Card write:

SOLID_PAPER_HEARTSWell it is Wednesday and on Monday I mentioned you needed to pick up a 100 Grand Candy Bar because it would be a part of your Valentine’s Day gift to your sweetheart.

Well I came up with a different idea and I think you will enjoy it even more.

So here is what you will need for Valentine’s on Friday:

• Valentine’s Card

• Candles

• Romantic Music

And of course it would be nice to have heart shaped cookies or a cake which you can pick up at your local bakery.

As you can see I always try to keep the cost down but still give you a very romantic, funny and unique evening together.

Check in on Friday and you will get the rest of your instructions.

Loving couple watching tv at homeI don’t know about you but everyone in our family has the cold/flu. Our daughter and her husband have been sick for 2 weeks. My mother is going on 2 weeks and I have been sick for a week. This is a time when all you want to do is just lay around and not venture out in the cold.

Our daughter, Denise, mentioned to us that she and Tom are catching up on some TV shows they haven’t been able to watch completely, such as Law and Order. Once they have seen the season they missed they will go on to another series like Modern Family.

If you have Netflix and Hulu you should be able to find several dramas or comedies you have heard about but due to your schedule you couldn’t find the time to watch.

For Larry and me, we are getting caught up on season 3 “Downton Abbey”. Season 3 wasn’t available on Netflix or Hulu so we went to the library and were able to rent it for 7 days for free. With me being sick we just hunkered down and watched TV.

Are you too sick to go out with your sweetheart? Cuddle up with a hot herbal tea and a blanket and have a TV marathon together.

DiaryI have always found life and people interesting and if we are open we can learn from each other.

Case in point:

Larry and I were standing in line to get a Starbucks coffee just before Christmas when a darling young lady behind us, whom I will call Lisa, said to me, “You guys are so cute together how long have you been married?”

I told Lisa in March we will be married 47 years. Her response was “WOW!” She proceeded to tell me she was married and with 2 children and that she loved her husband very much. There was small talk between us until our coffee was ready. On impulse before I left, I told her I wanted to give her a Christmas present from me.

I proceeded to tell her about the savings plan of $5 a week. She loved the plan and wanted to surprise her husband with a trip for their anniversary. Then she gave me a Christmas present too!

Lisa and her husband each have journals that are on top of their night stands in the master bedroom. When one of them thinks about something special about their sweetheart, they jot a little note in their journal & date it. It could be something as simple as “I love you just the way you are.” or “Thank you for washing the dishes tonight.” or “Congratulations on the new promotion. I know how hard you worked for that.”

They don’t do it every day and sometimes they will tag it with a post-it-note so the other knows to look in their journal.

When you tell someone how special they are or notice something they did for you by writing it down you are not only smiling down on your marriage you are making your sweetheart feel special and loved. So many times we only notice the things our sweetheart does wrong and we focus on that instead of noticing the things they do right.

I know I plan on starting this wonderful tradition with my husband.

So don’t walk, “RUN” to the nearest store to get a journal for you and your sweetheart. Start your New Year’s Resolution with this very special tradition for 2014.

Thank you Lisa!!!
